4th of July at the Historic Reserve

July 4th, 2008

The 4th of July at the Historic Reserve is a traditional patriotic party. Gates open at 8:30 am for one and all to spend the day and evening on the beautiful grounds of the Historic Reserve. Entertainment begins at 11 am on the big stage with one great musical act after another. There will be food and beverage vendors available with your favorite meal and treat. Funtastic Traveling Shows will provide a Carnival with plenty of rides for all ages. Arts and crafts vendors, kids games, Pearson Air Museum, Bi-plane rides, are all part of the big day. American Red Cross will be conducting a blood drive, and the evening finishes off with one of the largest Fireworks Shows west of the Mississippi! Fun for all ages! July 3rd will be a free outdoor movie…”Happy Feet”

 
Hot July Nights

July 18 - 20, 2008

Vancouver’s “Hottest” music festival takes place in the “Coolest” spot in town – Esther Short Park! Bring your blankets or low back lawn chairs and enjoy evening concerts on the grass at this 21 and over event! This year Peter Frampton will be performing Friday night, and the Beach Boys will take the stage on Saturday night. Concerts start at 8:00 pm with opening performances starting at 5:30 pm. Sunday, the Vancouver Symphony will perform with Katie Harmon. There will be a beer and wine garden, and a marketplace to sample over 50 types of delicious food. Gates open at 4:00pm.

 
Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival

August 22 - 24 , 2008

The Vancouver Wine & Jazz Festival features internationally acclaimed jazz, blues and pop musicians all in the heart of downtown Vancouver.  Lay out your blankets and lawn chairs on the manicured grass at Esther Short Park and enjoy wine from over 250 wine selections while soaking in the live sounds.  Peruse fine art from over 50 Northwest artists hailing from Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho.  There will be 10 local restaurants offering delicious cuisine. The Festival is one of the biggest events in Vancouver & Southwest Washington and considered one of the most important jazz festivals on the West Coast.
